Our group to expand its activities internationally, decided to establish some friendship associations in the targeted countries including Sri Lanka-Iran Friendship Association (SIFA) which has been registered in Colombo in 2016 to create the necessary foundations in bilateral relations.

The objective of SIFA is as follows:
Consolidate and develop friendly relations and brotherhood between Sir Lanks and Iran Promoting the common goals of the two nations in the fields of social, cultural, scientific, technical, literary, artistic, tourism, sport, business and economic.
In this regard, SIFA has four main executive committees which are responsible for achieving the goals of the association.

The main Executive Committees include :

1 – Culture and art Committee
2 – Scientific and Research Committee
3 – Social and Communication Committee
4 – Business and Economic Committee

The duties and objectives of Cultural and art committee

1 -Providing cultural and art delegations exchange between Sri Lanka and Iran
2 -Creating the fields for the exchange of radio and television programs, film and music
3-Introducing Meetings for Sri Lankan and Iranian scientists, poets, writers, artists with obtaining Association members Comments
4 -Translation and publication books and articles of scientists, writers, poets, and artists in Sri Lanka and Iran
5 -Exhibition of books, photographs, paintings, handicrafts of Sri Lanka and Iran
6 -Holding national and religious celebrations or events in Sri Lanka and Iran
7 -Useful proposals for the development of languages of Sri Lanka and Iran as the Home of language.
8 -Communication with scientists, professors, graduates of both countries Communication with scientists, professors, graduates of both countries
9-Holding various memorials and special prizes awarded to notables of both countries
10 -Providing conditions for the exchange of sports teams and facilitating training courses, exchanges of technical knowledge of coaches with coordinating between sports federations in Sri Lanka and Iran
11 -Coordination and setting up groups to develop tourism between Sri Lanka and Iran through the operational programs
12 -Communication and cooperation with relevant governmental and non governmental organizations in Sri Lanka and Iran to fulfill the above objectives

The duties and objectives of the scientific and research committee

1-Trying to develop relationships and exchange bilateral delegations of scientists, professors, graduates, and students
2-Holding meetings to exchange ideas among teachers and faculty members of the universities in Sri Lanka and Iran for the development of relationships.
3-Supporting the translation and compilations of scientific, training, and research books toward the development of relations between Sri Lanka and Iran.
4-Exchange of information on scientific researches
5-Identifying characters, scientific and academic institutions through the empowerment of public Associations
6-Exchange of scientific and research books, newspapers, and journals
7-major programming for developing and implementing the scientific method to solve scientific and research problems by linking researchers from academic centers in both countries
8-Holding the classes also training and empowerment workshops
9-Providing consulting services to non-governmental organizations
10-Providing scholarships to students and training courses for members
11-Cooperation and communication with relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations in Sri Lanka and Iran in order to achieve the above objectives.

The duties and objectives of the Social and communications Committee

1-Trying to develop relationships through communication between Sri Lankan and Iranian significant and prominent personalities

2-Encourage the mass media to provide audio-visual sources (Radio and television) about developments and various events in Sri Lanka and Iran

3-Issue various news and reports and introduce two countries that comply with the statutory framework

4-Establishment of the interaction between non-governmental organizations (NGO)

5-Attempt and take action for correct information disseminating and issuing reliable news and reports and neutralization incorrect information, news or reports

6 -Efforts to develop good social communication

7 -Collaboration and communication with the relevant government agencies and NGOs in Iran and Sri Lanka to achieve the above objectives

The duties and objectives of Economic and Commerce Committee

1-Holding meeting and conference of the industrial and commercial joint between Sri Lanka and Iran with using Association capacity
2-The assistance and effort in the holding of industrial and commercial exhibitions between the two countries
3 -Efforts to facilitate the development of commercial and industrial relations between Sri Lanka and Iran through linking businessmen, industrialists.
4-Providing the required information for businessmen, industrialists and Chambers of Commerce, and other existing capacities.
5-Cooperation with relevant governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations in both countries to achieve the above objectives
